Abstract: The paper presents results of a joint research project on the influence of three different lime putties, traditionally and industrially produced lime putty from Slovenia and industrially produced lime putty from the Czech Republic, and sands from different sources on the properties of 1:3 lime putty:sand mortars in the fresh and hardened state. The mortar mixes were pure lime mortars and lime putty mortars with addition of an artificial hydraulic component; metakaolin, from two different supplies. The compressive and flexural strength as well as water absorption and water evaporation properties of the mortars were assessed and compared.
