Abstract: The object of facade condition investigations is to produce information for building owners and designers to help them assess the need and possibility of repairing facades as well as to choose the most appropriate repair methods. The content of a condition investigation is to be such that set goals are achieved. Usually the aim is to determine the repair need and safety of structures. To achieve that, the deterioration and performance defects of structures need to be established. Rendered facades can be subject to several types of deterioration. This requires establishing the existence, scope, location, degree, impacts and future progress of deterioration in each case.
