Abstract: Multiscale modeling approach is becoming a promising method to quantify the structure at different scale level with properties of materials. However, some issues, like structuresensitivity of microstructural/mechanical parameters, the approaches to determination of representative volume element, the statistical reliability of experiment and sample strategy, are seldom concerned in the literatures. This paper expects to unlock the veil of these fundamental issues on the research of cement-based materials at different scale.
