Abstract: 
This chapter reviews the prior art on the correlation of long-term artificial ageing and outdoor exposure results of elastomeric sealants with a focus on the degradation of surface appearance and cohesive properties. Problems that arise in the correlation of artificial and natural ageing are discussed, conclusions are drawn from the review of the prior art, and recommendations for future research are made.
