5th International Essen Workshop on Transport in Concrete in Nanostructures and Macrostructure - Impact on Durability, Life-Time Prediction and Performance

The Institute of Building Physics and Materials Science (IBPM) of the University of Duisburg Essen are pleased to announce the 5th International Essen workshop, which is intended as a continuation of the Bolomey workshop on Pore Solution in hardened Cement Paste (1998), the workshops on Frost Action (1997, 2002) and the workshop on Durability of High Performance Concrete and final Workshop of CONLIFE (2004).

The aim of this workshop is to bridge the different aspects necessary for an appropriate description of concrete properties and long term performance: from application to basic science, from surface science to macroscopic effects, from physical to chemical effects, from modelling to phenomenological experience, from concrete matrix to reinforcement.

The Ruhr area as "European Capital of Culture 2010" invites you to join this conference from June 11th - 12th 2007 in an interesting environment with a great variety of sights in and around Essen.
