77th RILEM Annual Week and the 1st Interdisciplinary Symposium on Smart & Sustainable Infrastructures (ISSSI 2023)

Located in the scenic Pacific Northwest of Canada, Vancouver is ranked a top destination city because of it’s majestic mountains, sparkling ocean, rainforest greenery, and beautiful foliage through all four seasons. Along with its geographical aesthetics, Vancouver is a growing cosmopolitan city with a blooming economy that attracts people from all over the world. Within minutes, you can find yourself immersed in world-class dining, shopping, and entertainment, and that does not even mention the near-limitless outdoor adventures that call to thrill-seekers and nature-lovers alike. The host city to the 2010 Olympics is home to different neighborhoods, each with their own unique characteristics. In Vancouver, there is something for everyone!

The RILEM Annual Week 2023 conference program consists of segments bringing together the latest developments in construction materials. It brings researchers and professionals together from the construction industry, to contribute towards the development of the scientific initiatives established within the six RILEM clusters.

The primary objective of ISSSI 2023  is to create an environment of mutual cooperation between experts in Materials and Structures and provide a forum for active dialogue. We believe that it is only through such a multi-disciplinary approach that significant cross-fertilization of ideas can occur and innovative solutions to our infrastructural inadequacies can be found. One special part of ISSSI 2023 is the presence of industry and government on a common platform with the academia. This is critical to find solutions to our pressing problems such as high carbon emissions from the construction industry, limited use of sensors, robotics and AI, and lack of multidisciplinary.
