XX International Conference on Building Pathology and Constructions Repair
For professionals specializing in the pathology and rehabilitation of structures, a comprehensive understanding of key aspects is crucial. This includes expertise in the technology of materials such as stone, adobe, wood, steel, concrete, and others. Knowledge of the geometric characteristics of structures, the potential tests for physical and mechanical material characterization, and insights into the behavior of structural elements are also essential. Moreover, professionals should be well-versed in solutions for rehabilitation and reinforcement.
In recent times, there has been a significant surge in knowledge and innovation within the fields of building pathology and rehabilitation. This growth can be attributed to heightened awareness among stakeholders in the construction sector and the emergence of new materials, techniques, and solutions. Recent statistics indicate a continuing upward trajectory in investments within the rehabilitation sector.
In its early editions, from the 1st to the 5th, the conference focused on topics related to the investigation of damages and diagnosis techniques. As the years progressed, during the 6th to the 15th editions, CINPAR shifted its attention towards discussions on non-destructive tests, the exploration of new materials for repair, techniques for structural straightness, and material characterization. More recently, the last editions of CINPAR have been devoted to advanced subjects, including cutting-edge materials, structural health monitoring, digitalization, and the preservation of cultural heritage. In line with the evolving needs of the industry, CINPAR is now dedicated to addressing critical issues such as climate change and the construction life cycle, further solidifying its position as a driving force in the field of building pathology and rehabilitation.
Objectives
- Disseminate and discuss methods for sustainable constructions and construction life cycle;
- To present and discuss the most frequent pathologies in general construction;
- To know and analyze the main causes of pathologies;
- Disseminate the most used materials in the work of rehabilitation and reinforcement of existing structures;
- Promote the exchange of experiences in the fields of the study of pathologies and the rehabilitation and strengthening of structures.
Aim and Scope
CINPAR covers, but is not limited to, the following topics:- Climate changes and the built environment;- Constructions life cycle;- Hygrothermal behaviour of buildings;- Structural pathologies: stone, wood, mortar and concrete pathologies;- Diagnosis techniques: diagnostic methodological approach, traditional and innovative techniques, non-destructive methodologies;- Building pathology vs. Durability;- Asset and maintenance management: costs resulting from poor quality, maintenance and its deterioration;- Rehabilitation of the constructed heritage: strategies and incentives, diagnostic and design methodologies, the appropriately of existing regulations for rehabilitation, restoration of public spaces, adaptive rehabilitation, rehabilitation technologies;- Energy efficiency;- Building materials: ecology, nanotechnology and recent trends;- Applications and limitations of novel building technologies;- Structural health monitoring;- Sustainability and new materials for rehabilitation;- Infrastructure and urban scale studies;- Case studies;- Building information modeling;- Building performance simulation.
