Abstract: The new composite material TRC offers a number of advantages. The textile reinforcement and the possible thin concrete cover enable the construction of thin-walled structural elements. This opens up new ways for the construction material concrete and gives architects and engineers more freedom in the design. Based on the results of investigations in the characteristics of the new composite material already today TRC can be used in structural elements. Furthermore the advantages of TRC lead to an entirely new application potential for concrete as a building material and open up new fields for the application of concrete in the future.
