Abstract:
This paper presents VicRoads' in the use of geotextile reinforced sprayed bitumen chip seals to delay and/or inhibit the propagation of cracking in pavements. These chip seals are now being applied to major urban freeways and highways when combined with an ultra thin asphalt wearing course or as a treatment in their own right. These processes allows cracked pavements to be preserved using a procedure that are quick and with minimum disruption to traffic.
