Abstract: Performance-Related Specifications (PRS) provide a rational and practical application of economic concepts and' reliability analysis. The main goal of PRS is to assess construction compliance with a desired level of performance (as-designed). The level of performance of any structure is expressed in terms of its Life Cycle Cost (LCC) through performance predictive models, statistical simulation and cost models. The level of compliance of the
actual as-built structure with the as-designed structure is measured through the relative LCC, which could provide a criterion for management actions.
