Abstract: The service life of the proposed open building system was set to be 200 years. Since the support structure and infill are independent, it is very easy to renew infill several times during the senlice life. The support is composed of precast prestressed concrete members to extend service life. And the base isolation system was also adopted. In this paper, the prediction of strongest earthquake in Kanto area during the service life and the concrete
durability were discussed. And the safety of the designed 7-story open building was examined,
