Abstract: Embedded connection is a connecting method between the steel web and the concrete slab in composite prestressed concrete bridges with corrugated steel webs. As the embedded connection does not require steel flanges, there are few welded points, and this enables costs to be greatly reduced as compared with the stud dowels that are normally used for connection. Till now, many experiments on the embedded connection have been conducted, and it has been reported that the static ultimate strength of embedded connections is equal to that of studs, while the resistance to fatigue of embedded connections exceeds that of studs. This connection was used for Hondani Bridge, and its excellence in both cost and structural terms was demonstrated.
