Abstract: The transport process of chlorides in concrete is one of the aspect that determines the service life of concrete structures. If the chloride concentration at the reinforcement exceeds the critical con-centration there will be a risk for corrosion. The chloride diffusion coefficient is one of the pa-rameters that influence the chloride ingress. This article describes how diffusion coefficients are obtained from structures that are exposed to chlorides up to 62 years.19The often indicated significant better performance of blast furnace slag cement compared to ordi-nary Portland cement is not observed at the examined at bridges. It should be emphasized that blast furnace slag cement that is analyzed in this project is not be equivalent to today's blast furnace slag cement.
