Abstract: This paper presents a study on bond performance between steel and concrete (pull-out test)with cubic specimen cast using normal concrete and self-compacting concrete.
The characterisation of the specimen were changed by varying the embedded length,the bar diameter and roughness.
Results are presented as relationships between the pullout load and the bond slip and the variation in the average bond stress with all the parameters studied.
The results show that self-compacting concrete and normal concrete present identical performances.
However,the influence of roughness appear different for self-compacting concrete.
