Abstract: A slipform rig is designed in order to simulate realistic loads that the concrete is exposed for during slipforming.
The slipform consist of a slipform panel where the inclination and stiffness can vary in order to simulate all kinds of slipforms.
It is primarily the normal pressure, pore water pressure, concrete temperature and the lifting force (friction) that are measured during a test.
By using this rig, it is possible to identify the parameters that affect the friction force that occur when the slipform panel is lifted.
With more knowledge on parameters affecting the friction, it is possible to select a concrete mix design and slipform technique that will result in a lower friction force.
It is assumed that lower friction force will decrease the risk for any surface damages.
