Abstract: 
The durability of concrete structures is discussed from the points of view of materials, elements and structures. It is demonstrated that the durability deterioration under the action of non-mechanical factors is a mechanical process in essence, and the durability of concrete materials, elements and structures can be described with mechanical parameters and models. Thus the durability of concrete structures can also be designed and controlled as the strength.
