Abstract:
The strength and durability of High Performance Lightweight Aggregate Concrete (HPLWAC) with different binder contents and different silica fume dosages are studied. The test results show that the HPLWAC with compressive strength higher than 60 MPa, slump around 200mm and density less than 1834kg/m3 can be made successfully. The binder content affect the compressive strength of HPLWC, but after 550 kg/m3, it become insignificantly. For the improvement of strength, the optimum dosage of silica fume is 10%. The results of durability test show that the water permeability of HPLWAC is very low, and the frost resistance of HPLWC is better than normal weight concrete.
