Abstract: The development of concrete creep during stressing period are investigated based on the field instrumentation measurements by dividing the total stressing period into several stressing time intervals and staying time intervals and recording the strain variations in each time interval. It is found that, for the investigated structure with the total stressing period of 187.1h, concrete creep developed during stressing period is relatively large and can't be negligible, the percentage of concrete creep are 26.4% of total strain and 35.8% of elastic strain respectively. Concrete creep is linearly related to the existing stress s and the loading time t. A simple formula is derived for estimating concrete creep developed during stressing period with a satisfied accuracy. Conclusions and recommendations are drawn for analyzing prestress effects of practical structures that need several days to complete the stressing.
