Abstract:
In this paper, mechanical characteristics of concrete subjected to high temperature have been investigated under uniaxial compression. The damage regularities of the strength and deformation behavior are given for concrete at high temperature. To predict the mechanical behavior of quasi-brittle materials (i.e. concrete), it may be necessary to combine elastoplasticity theories and continuum damage mechanics, an elastoplastic damage model is proposed within a framework that automatically meets the restrictions of thermodynamics; The thermal strain and thermal damage at notch of the arch concrete specimen are tested by the electrometrical method and ultrasonic method. The failure mechanism of concrete thermal damage is explained.
