Abstract:
An comparative test program including six strengthening beams and twelve strengthening columns was carried out. Two strengthening systems, namely hybrid carbon fiber/glass fiber-reinforced polymer (H-CF/GF-RP) strengthening and carbon fiber reinforced polymer (CFRP) strengthening were used. The test results showed that compared with CFRP, the H-CF/GF-RP strengthening led to both a significant increase of ductility and a remarkable decrease of strengthening cost with little or a slight influence on load carrying capacity and stiffness of strengthened beams and columns.
