Abstract:
Underground cavity enjoys many advantages. There would be more saving of labor, time and money, and more safety, if the Building of Underground Space and Forming Concrete Support (BUSFCS) was completed with Synchronous Explosive and Expanding (SEE) method. The key for this method is taking advantage of the thixotropy and fluidization of concrete under high shock pressure during setting. It was proposed that the concrete's thixotropy contributed directly to the performances of concrete's support including no cracks, no peeling, no slumping, homogeneous and compacted structure, high strength and better durability. The primary parameter for those was presented as the explosive shock time of the concrete's thixotropy. Based on the theoretical analysis, many fundamental tests had been performed. It was assumed as the Optimum Thixotropy Time (OTT) when the maximum difference of consistency was gained. It was suggested that the OTT would be more accurate if it was controlled accessorily with the difference of plastic strength. After the experiments on concrete with different explosive shock time and different explosive shock pressure, the different performances were presented too.
