Abstract:
In order to improve the durability and the carrying capacity of one steel-concrete composite girder bridge, non-shrinkage expansive concrete is adopted in both its cast-in-situ concrete deck and its concrete filled steel tubular piers. The shrinkage-compensating mechanism of expansive concrete and the results of limiting expansion rate design are given in this paper. The method of expansive concrete mix proportion design is also presented. Laboratory experiments are conducted to testify the results of limiting expansion rate design of expansive concrete. Finally, the results of expansive concrete design are applied into the bridge in this paper. Judging from the 2-year's service situation after its construction, it can be confirmed that the design results of expansive concrete are reasonable and effective.
