Abstract:
Based on experimental research and theoretical analysis of material and structural properties of self-compacting high performance concrete (SCHPC), this paper presents a testing method, evaluation index and mix-proportioning system of SCHPC, and also discusses in detail the mechanical properties of SCHPC in terms of compressive strength, splitting tensile strength, elastic modulus, and drying shrinkage and creep. Furthermore, this paper reports the test results of 34 SCHPC beams in terms of short-term properties, fatigue properties and long-term properties. The corresponding design method is also suggested. The research indicates that the C50- SCHPC designed on the basis of the outcome of this project exhibits an excellent index of material performance, and that structures made using such concrete exhibit better static properties, fatigue properties and creep properties, thus meeting the requirements of structural design and employment. [Keywords] self-compacting high performance concrete, mechanical properties, fatigue properties, creep properties
