Abstract:
This paper studies experimentally the resistance of salt crystallization corrosion of cement mortars containing fly ash. By using drying and wetting cycles at water and salt solution, the effect of several factors on properties of cement-fly ash composite binder resisting salt crystallization was studied respectively, the factors includes: water-binder ratio, fineness and content of fly ash, fly ash blended with few silica fume. The experimental results showed: (i)the breakage of salt crystallization corrosion on mortars is more severe compared to salt chemical corrosion. (ii)when evaluated with comparative flexural strength, the decrease of water-binder ratio, increment of fineness of fly ash and fly ash composite silica fume all improve properties of cement-fly ash composite binder resisting salt crystallization at different degree.
