Abstract:
Results of experimental investigation of creep behavior of high performance concrete beams are summarized. A total of 14 beams were tested: 10 self-compacting high performance concrete (SCHPC) beams and 4 vibrated high performance concrete beams. On the basis of experimental results of this study, the effect of mode of consolidation, degree of concretion and prestress at loading age and concrete mix on creep behavior is discussed. Also, an empirical equation to estimate creep coefficient of deflection with time is proposed. It can be seen from the study that use of SCHPC incorporating ultra fly ash designed based on optimization of concrete mix can simplify production, lower the noise level on the construction site, improve both the conditions for the labor on the work site and for the surroundings.
