Abstract:
This paper brought up a new type of building structure system - reinforced concrete staggered truss system, including staggered truss-shear wall, staggered truss and frame-shear wall, and staggered truss and frame-tube in tube systems. In transferring force and deformation, it is different from staggered steel truss system and has the inherent rigidity of reinforced concrete joints. The sideway curves of the staggered truss tend to deflect in a flexural configuration under horizontal loading, and the staggered truss tend to deflect in a shear mode. When staggered truss are combined with frames and shear walls, the resulting deflected shape is a combination of the effects of the flexural and shear curves. Simplified analytical models for the structures analysis are considered on different characteristics of different structure systems under gravity loading or lateral loading. Approximate calculating methods included iteration method, D-value method, the continuous medium method, etc. Some formulas related to the analysis of staggered truss structure have been deduced additionally.
