Abstract: 
Combined with the results of physical simulation tests, the bearing capacity of reinforced concrete sparse-pile and strip-slab composite foundation in thick mollisol ground is studied and the transferring mechanism of load along sparse-pile and the coupling mechanism among the sparse-piles, strip-slab and thick surrounding soil are discussed by the aid of the numerical simulation calculations. On the other hand, the influences of changing pile-length and pile-section etc. on mechanical characteristics of the composite foundation are analyzed, which offers theoretical foundation and project parameters for the application of sparse-pile and strip-slab composite foundation in thick mollisol ground.
