Abstract: 
In the paper, the U shape steel plate is used as an installation of restrained displacement and energy absorption. The elastic-plastic analysis on the member of restricted device on sliding base isolation is done. The dynamic test on full-scale brick masonry structure models with and without sliding base isolation has been carried out. On the basis of the study on characteristic of restoring force of isolation system with restricted device, the restoring calculation model on brick masonry structure with sliding base isolation is proposed. The analytical program of isolation system is compiled with the restoring calculation model, the construction methods for device of isolation structure and the test effect of isolation base are proposed. The result of the application of sliding isolation in practical engineering shows that the sliding base isolation structure is better than that of the fixed base structure in seismic behavior. It can be reduced by two of design intensity for the device of isolation structure.
