Abstract: Self-compacting concrete is coming out of its infancy. In the precast concrete industry this new material has a large impact: self-compacting concrete offers many advantages and can be easily produced and controlled. The application of SCC at the building site is not yet that far. SCC is mostly limited to special cases. However, meanwhile the relation between the required properties of SCC and its structural application is now better understood. SCC is now applied on a large scale in thin in-situ floors. A new and promising material, to be further explored, is self-compacting fibre reinforced concrete.
