Abstract: The incorporation of the admixtures such as super plasticizers (HRWRA) and viscosity modifying admixture (VMA) in SCC leads to systems containing higher fluidity in the fresh state and with higher compactness in the hardened state compared to conventional concrete. Trial mixes are essential because of the diversity and variety of materials used such as cement, mineral additives, super plasticizers and viscosity agents. However, with the proper use of selected self consolidating concrete equivalent mortar (SCCEM) tests, the trial mixes required for SCC can be reduced, thereby saving time, material, and labor. The studies undertaken in this paper concern the influence of the combined HRWRA and viscosity modify admixture in the presence of ternary cement on the selection of mortar composition, the estimation of fluidity, the stability and the setting time of self-consolidating concrete equivalent mortar (SCCEM).
