Abstract: Due to the large surface area, quantification of fillers and the fine part of aggregates is essential for the ability to control physical properties, such as workability of self-compacting concrete. A new simple method for measuring the surface area has been investigated and compared with other traditional methods. The properties of eight different fillers (seven limestone and one glass filler) and their influence on the rheology of self-compacting mortar have been evaluated.
