Abstract: This paper mainly studies the construction property of SCC designed by Densified Mixture Design Algorithm (DMDA), such as workability, compressive strength, ultrasonic pulse velocity and chloride ion penetration, etc. The particle packing concept by densifing the blended granular material with pozzolanic material is main adopted by DMDA, and by altering the quality or quantity of cement paste as well as the addition of pozzolanic material and superplasticizer, specified concrete properties, such as workability, strength and durability, can be obtained. Hence although largely decreasing water content and cement content, the designed SCC by DMDA still has high flow-ability and desired strength. The slump and slump flow spread of fresh SCC as designed are within 230~270mm and 550~650mm, respectively. The compressive strength, pulse velocity, and chlorine ion penetration capacity of SCC all meet the expected performance.
