Abstract: Most rivers in Taiwan are short and flow torrentially. The resulting aggregate at any bank area of rivers is not well gradation but gap-graded distribution. This research is mainly adjusted the mixture proportion of gap-graded aggregates and pozzolanic materials with different cement paste amount by DMDA method, such as 1.2Vv, 1.4Vv, 1.6Vv, 1.8Vv and 2.0Vv, etc. Under suitable amount of cement paste, the SCC with gap-graded aggregate can still perform the properties as high workability, high durability, economic and safety. Moreover, the performance of SCC designed with gap-graded aggregates is even better than that of nature-graded concrete. The apparent contribution of aggregate packing is emphasized. So in conclusion, the gap-graded aggregate or other marginal materials may be utilized on production of SCC.
