Abstract: Over a period of 12 years, TC 106 has investigated the assessment of aggregates for alkali-reactivity potential in concrete. After careful study and consideration, selected test procedures have been developed and published by RILEM for international application. Some other methods are now being refined and subjected to world-wide trials. TC 106 has recognised its responsibility for also providing guidance on the integrated use of these procedures and their interpretation. A first outline of this draft assessment scheme is presented in this paper.
