Abstract: The RILEM Technical Committee 174-SCC started its work in 1997. The committee arranged an International RILEM symposium in 1999 and is due to deliver its final report in September 2000. This progress report informs briefly on the technology of SCC and the driving forces behind its development. It lists the membership of the committee and describes the major output from the committee work. Indications of future work in the area are also given.
