Abstract: This issue of Concrete Science and Engineering is, in
many respects, very special. First of all, it represents
the first edition of the journal put together
by the new Board of Editors. As previously announced
by Dr. Carmen Andrade, RILEM's President, and
Prof. Surendra Shah, Editor-in-Chief of Materials and
Structures, Profs. Arnon Bentur, Klaas van Breugel and
Franz Ulm have accepted to join me on the journal's
Editorial Board in the capacity of Associate Editors for
Concrete Science and Engineering. In our efforts to increase
the notoriety of the journal and promote the submission
of new and original papers, we will be assisted by the
members of a newly-appointed Editorial Advisory
Committee, which comprises well-known experts from
around the world. The new Concrete Science and
Engineering team will remain fully committed to the
publication of high-quality papers that report the latest
research results on the properties and performance of
hydrated cement systems.
