Abstract: As TRC (Textile Reinforced Concrete) present interesting mechanical behaviour either in tension and in plane shear, we try to develop their use for seismic retrofitting of existing masonry. We compare the structural behaviour of walls made of hollow concrete blocks reinforced by steel-concrete chaining or TRC composites. The level of strain energy absorbed and the global ductility until failure are particularly interesting.
