Abstract: The tensile performances of SHCCs having different air contents and pore structures formed by air entrapping, air entraining, and hollow aggregate particles were evaluated to discuss their influence in regard to pore size and the presence of shells. The tensile strength of specimens having hollow particles was highest, while that of specimens having entrapped air was lowest. The air content of specimens containing hollow particles was not reduced by pressure during spraying because the air was protected by the shells. The losses in the air content and ultimate tensile strain of sprayed SHCC were minimized by the use of hollow aggregate particles.
