Abstract: Today, construction has progressed well due to large amount of construction undertaken. It has resulted in the growth of the consumption of exhaustible natural resources, causing negative impacts to the environment through the generation of construction and demolition wastes (CDW).

This argument becomes important to study the CDW of recycled aggregates with the addition of geosynthetics used in geotechnical works. Thus the objective of this research is to characterize the waste produced works in the city of Recife / PE and identify their viability with the addition of fibers used in engineering works.

The methodology used is the collection of waste from construction and demolition, improvement, implementation of tests of characterization to define the constituents of samples of CDW for use in reinforced soil and tests of resistance to directing shear. Based on the results we can prove the viability of using recycled materials (CDW), encouraging the creation of a market for manufactured products with the CDW.
