Abstract:
This paper deals with chemical and mechanical degradation behaviors of leached concrete in NH₄NO₃ solution. The leaching degradation (D) was measured by the following testing methods: phenolphthalein indicator, ultrasonic testing, pH value in pores and X-ray microtomography. The stress-strain relationships of leached concrete with different leaching degradations were investigated experimental. The studying results illustrated that D tested by the above four methods were all show the better linear relationship of the decrease of compressive strength of the leached concrete. Experimental results proved that ultrasonic testing was a useful non-destructive method to characterize the degradation depth of leached concrete. Although, the X-ray microtomography analysis represented the higher degradation, but this powerful non-destructive method could show the porosity changed in the interfacial transition zone (ITZ) which covered the shortage of MIP analysis. The analytical regression for the stress-strain relationship of leached concrete was given, which fit to the experimental data well.
