Abstract:
In this study, meso-scale mortar specimens were immerged in NaCl and CaCl₂ solutions for 180 days and then three-point bending tests of the specimens and chemical analyses were conducted so as to determine tensile softening curves from load-displacement curves using a back analysis and to clarify how the amount of hydrate affects tensile characteristics. Consequently, it was found that the elastic modulus and the tensile strength decreased as the amount of hydrates CH and C- S-H decreased. Besides, based on the experimental results, the model formula of elastic modulus, tensile strength, fracture energy and tensile softening curve that can consider the amount of hydrate change were proposed.
