Abstract: The paper presents a model based on simple and widely accepted assumptions for the analysis and the design of steel fiber reinforced concrete (SFRC) members subjected to bending moments. Results of an extensive experimental program on rectangular and T-beams are used to validate the design assumptions. The paper questioned the reference length value proposed in recent design guidelines and confirms the independence of the post-cracking -w response regarding the member size. The effects of member depth and fibre orientation are discussed.
