Abstract: The standardization of test methods for determining the material properties of textile rein-forced concrete (TRC) becomes increasingly important, as the composite material is gaining significance. While conducting fundamental research on the material as well as realizing several practice projects, substantial characteristic values and the corresponding experimental tests became evident. This publication gives an overview of this topic, detailing the tests and values that were used in order to obtain several approvals in individual cases as well as a general technical approval for the flexural strengthening of steel reinforced concrete slabs with a TRC system. The authors describe test setups suitable for the determination of the bond and strength parameters of TRC and suggest methods for the evaluation of the experimental results, while demonstrating common mistakes in testing as well as ways to prevent them. Typical results from the determination of the characteristics are given for an exemplary TRC system.
