Abstract: Steel Fibre Reinforced Concrete (SFRC) is increasingly used in ground slab applications. The tensile stress-strain (s-e) relationship is needed for non-linear analysis of these slabs. In this paper, an analytical method to determine the tensile s-e relationship, is proposed. Using this method, the moment-curvature (M-f) and load-deflection (P-d) responses are derived by assuming a s-e relationship. A trial and error technique is followed, adjusting the s-e relationship until the analytical results fit the experimental results for either M-f or P-d. A parameter study is also conducted to study the influence of each of these parameters on the M-f and the P-d responses and to serve as aid to the user in adjusting the s-e parameters. The proposed analytical method is evaluated by comparing predicted M-f and P-d responses to published experimental results.
