Abstract: The "Laboratoire Central des Ponts et Chaussées" (L.C.P.C.) has patented a new cement composite, CEMTECmultiscale®, which has been developed to be stress hardening in tension. One of the industrial applications aimed is related to thin slabs. Consequently, the research objective is to characterize the tensile behaviour of the material for this kind of application.
To achieve this, the uniaxial tensile behaviour is determined from a bending test (easier to perform than a uniaxial tension test) and using an inverse numerical approach.
This paper presents the principles and the results of this approach.
