Abstract: The paper describes a method for processing of concrete rubble. This method uses high
performance sonic impulses as crushing tool, which are generated by an electrical discharge
under water. The caused stress acts directly at the interfacial transition zone of the concrete.
The stress can be dosed more precisely, because the energy input is at the whole surface. The
experiments show that a high percentage of cement paste free aggregates can be produced.
From the material science point of view it is remarkable, that the stress-strain behaviour of
different types of concrete is reflected in the grading curves and the content of cement paste
of the fractions of the crushed concrete.
