Abstract: The use of recycled concrete aggregates on the production of structural concrete may decrease its performance with respect to durability due to the high water absorption of this type of aggregates. A similar situation occurs with the use of lightweight aggregates, but a previous study has shown that the durability of lightweight aggregate concrete may be close to that of normal weight concrete as the paste quality is increased. Using aggregates obtained by crushing and sieving concrete cubes after being tested, a study was developed to analyse the influence of the recycled concrete aggregates on some durability related concrete properties. The cement content and the percentage of recycled aggregate were changed. The results are analysed aiming to obtain recycled aggregate concrete with the required resistance to environmental actions.
