Abstract: The interest in the utilization of concrete produced with recycled aggregate is increasing
lately, with the prospect of becoming a widely diffused product in the near future. Therefore,
new researches on this material, with still little-studied properties have aroused the interest of
the scientific medium and of constructors who, probably, will become its biggest consumers,
having in mind the need of searching alternatives for sustainable development and lowering
environmental impact. From these considerations, the concrete obtained with recycled
aggregate with partial replacement of the natural coarse aggregate is evaluated and standards
as stress compression, absorption and modulus of elasticity are discussed. These properties
are extremely important for the safety of a structural project. For the achievement of this
research, material characterization and production of concrete with recycled aggregate have
been made. The obtained result indicates the possibility of utilizing recycled aggregate-produced
concrete in pieces with or without structural function. Standards obtained that way
establish the use limits and should direct new researches.
