Abstract: In this research study, flexural behaviour of reinforced fibrous concrete beams is studied. Steel metallic hooked fibers of aspect ratio 80, in 1% and 2% by weight of concrete are used. Thorough analytical study is carried out to predict the flexural behaviour of concrete beams when fibers are used. The analytical study is accompanied with the bending tests performed according to the Indian Standard Specifications on beams of 100 x 100 mm cross section and 500 mm in length. Analytical model to predict the ultimate moment carrying capacity of the fiber reinforced beam of rectangular cross section is presented in this paper, accompanied with the test results.
