Abstract: In order to guarantee the safety of self-compacting concrete( denoted as SCC) frames in earthquake zone, experiments on four single-story and single-span frames with the same size were carried out regarding their earthquake resistance behaviors. The MTS loading system was used to put the frames under quasi-static loads. Failure processes, load-displacement hysteretic curves of the specimens, work index and coefficient of ductility of the specimens were also studied. Moreover, the studies on the influence of the mixture of SCC and the standards of stirrup required by different criterion on earthquake resistance behavior of frames were also conducted by comparing and analyzing the test results. The results provide useful design information for the engineering application of self-compacting concrete frames.
